Avast turning off periodic scanning on windows defender on windows 10?

I keep turning on the periodic scanning for windows defender, but every time I go back every couple days it’s off. Could it be avast is purposely disabling this?

No, avast is not doing so.
It is Windows itself that disables defender when another av is installed.
