It happened three times to me in a last month that when clicking on “show hidden icons” (next to the win clocks) the avast’s icon was in red and saying “You are not protected”. After openning the avast program, the protection had been turned off. How come that the program turns off deliberately? And how is it possible that WIN10 doesn’t inform me immediatelly about it?
avast premier version: 12.3.2280 (build 12.3.3154.19)
virus database: 161018-1
both set on an automatic updating
win 10 pro 64bit, activated, version 1607
set on an automatic updating
using also Sticky Password, but is not set to be automatically run after login to win account
those apps run after win login:
avast
google drive
microsoft ondrive
btmshellex(2): fsquirt.exe, host proccess (rundll32)
radeon settings host applications (3): video detection, video detection, radeon settings: host application (-that doesn’t make much sense to me…)
before I’ve been using ESET NOD32 AV, paid version.
I suggest you make sure your previous AV has been totally removed.
Follow the instruction in my signature regarding Successfully installing Avast: http://goo.gl/VLXde
There was no antivirus previously installed. It was a brand new computer, it came with a downloadable scanner which I never downloaded. Only thing on it was Windows Defender.
Almost all new computers come with a trial version of an AV. It needs to be removed even if you never used it. It is on your system.
What was the trial AV that came with your computer ???
