Avast turns unsecured everytime I use Google as search engine.

I’m using Windows XP professional and avast free for years.

Resently I’ve updated from ver 4.xx to 5.0.545

Imediatelly after installation avast started to turn Unsecure.

Trying to find what was causssing the problem I found that avast was turning unsecure every time I was opening Google.

If I was turning it secure the program was turning unsecure emediatelly after clicking on the googles search field. ( I’m using both IE8 and Google chrome)

I have scanned my system. uninstalled avast using the tools from avast support page, cleaned the registry redownloaded and reinstalled avast. Problem persisted. I have run the mallware cleaner. It did found two problems cleaned them but problem persists.

Please Help.

i think it happened due to pirated Operating systems. or in the system having less then minimum requirements for avast!

@ Thundercace
Can you provide us with some more details. The hardware you are using, ram, software…yr routine as with my signature, so that we know where avast may be having trouble, possibly avastSvc is unable to pass to internet

but more information please. Have you tried clean out yr 4.8 with ultimate Uninstallers

I really don’t think so.

Thunderace, I suggest:

  1. Clean your temporary files.
  2. Schedule a boot time scanning with avast with archive scanning turned on. If avast does not detect it, you can try DrWeb CureIT! instead.
  3. Use MBAM (or SUPERantispyware or even Spyware Terminator) to scan for spywares and trojans. If any infection is detected, better and safer is send the file to Quarantine than to simple delete them.
  4. Test your machine with anti-rootkit applications. I suggest avast! antirootkit or Trend Micro RootkitBuster.
  5. Make a HijackThis log to post here or this analysis site. Or even submit the RunScanner log to to on-line analysis.
  6. Clean your Hosts file (replacing it) with HostsMan tool.
  7. Disable System Restore and then reenable it again.
  8. Immunize your system with SpywareBlaster.
  9. Check if you have insecure applications with Secunia Software Inspector.

LOL! ;D

Operating system is jenuin bought with computer.

Yes I did uninstalled it both times with this tool.
And I don’t think its the hardware. Avast can pass to internet it auto updates.

Its a long process but I’ll give it a try.

By the way. yesterday avast worked like a dream. Today I’ve logged into forum with IE8 directly without passing through Google and after a while avast turned unsecured again.

Anyway regardless what happens i want to thank you all for your answers.

Thanks guys.

okay that’s fine.

good idea to run through Tech’s suggestion list. For example, a HijackThis scan may turn something up.

I think I’ve shoved it. I have mentioned that I’ve run Anti-Malware previously. This found two malware programs inside Speedbits Video accelerator Plus program. These two malware I’ve quarantine them. Before starting the process you’ve sended me I’ve played my last card. I completely disabled the only program I found with malware the Speedbits Video accelerator Plus program…
That was it problem stopped.
I’ve waited for a full day before reporting the solution just to be sure that problem solved.

Thank you all for your valuable advices.
The Anti-malware software that gave me the hint to finally solve the problem I’ve found it on this forum.
And if I have followed your advice I’ll also would have found the solution.

Keep up the good work

You’re welcome Thunderace. Glad I could help and even happier that you’ve found the solution.
