Avast U3 renewal

I have a Sandisk Cruzer 8g and my license will expire in 2 weeks. So I renewed it with Avast who xferred me to Element 5 for processing.
Now it says that it has been accepted but the date is still in December 2008 which will expire soon. It did not overwrite last year’s.
I wrote to sales at Avast who re-send me my license and the following note. But at Cruzer wizard web site, there is no Avast for U3, only Mcaffee.
If I download a new Avast file from U3 central, it’s only a trial version and when I insert the license it still back to Dec 2008.
I’m going around in a circle here…

Plug your U3 smart drive into your PC. Click on the icon in the Windows tray. The U3 Launchpad will be displayed.

Click on “Add Programs”. Select the “Cruzer Program Wizard” option.

Select the programs you want to install from the range of categories.

Click “Install” to automatically begin installation of these programs on your u3 smart drive. "

So, do I understand it correctly that you bought a new license, but when you insert the new license file to the program, it still says it will expire this December?

Strange indeed. In that case, I’m afraid your best bet is to indeed get in touch with the sales people (sales at avast dot com).

All Avast sales/tech people did was to resend me my license with the above instructions.
I spoke to a tech. from Element 5 and he referred me back to Avast sales.
round & round we go!!!
