Avast U3 update/ reinstall issues

Hi,
I’m not sure if this is an U3 problem or an Avast problem. I’ve had issues with updating the Avast- when I update (registered version) from the U3 control panel, it always locks up the computer during the last little bit of installation. Usually at about 98% finished. XP won’t let me power down the USB connection. So I uninstalled it by deleting the U3 folder from my computer and when I tried to delete the 1F30627F-0195-44d4-8C24-1999F3C02C50 folder from the Sandisk Cruzer titanium 2GB, windows says “not able to read from disk” even though I can still browse through other folders on the drive (G:) I tried reinstalling it, and it too locks up towards the end. I must say it looks like a hardware problem to me (i.e. a faulty U3 drive)…

It seems to indeed be a U3 problem. I got it to function properly, although it took some fiddling. I uninstalled the U3 program, installed the latest version and disabled the automatic update for Avast. It works fine now, on both my work & home computers. Before it didn’t play well with the work comp.

man i have to remove my U3 soft, avast didn’t work properly after i reinstall it, it was a shame
