Avast UI not working after virus cleanup

Hello.

I have cleaned up a system from a virus infection and everything seems to be working fine. However, I found that avast user interface and the icon for the task bar are not working. I went in and ran the avast uninstaller program to remove everything and then did a fresh install and still have the same issue. According to task manager (windows 7 84bit pro) avast is running in the background. However, The desktop icon does not seem to work either.

Aside from removing avast and cleaning up / reinstalling Iam dead in the water on this as to how to resolve this? I have ran multiple scans with other software and all infections are gone now however, There must be some file system damage that prevents avast user interface from running? Fresh install did run but after install nothing shows up except the desktop icon.

Any help in how to fix this is appreciated,

attach Malwarebytes and Farbar recovery scan logs

After scanning with aswMBR.exe I removed one *.exe file that was listed as infected.

Attached are the log files you requested.

Thank you,

you should not take any actions with aswMBR unless told so by a removal expert

expert notified and will check logs…

I understand.

Thank you for your help.

I cannot thank you enough. Avast seems to be the best antivirus software I have come across.

Any further problems before I go for a tidy up  Avast and AVG were specifically targeted by this
