Avast Uninstall (AVCLEAR) program won't uninstall

I uninstalled Avast a while ago and had to download a special program for it, I think it was called AVCLEAR. Fine, it worked as advertised but in the process it created a default boot in the BIOS that I can not get rid off. So when ever I boot the PC I have to sit on the boot process to change the bootup procedure, otherwise it boots up in SAFE MODE. This is beyond annoying. I’ve tried a boot manager program that should eliminate any unwanted boot sectors, but it doesn’t find any other then the Windows boot. I want to give this boot the boot! How do I get rid of it? I’ve even re-installed AVAST since then but the Safe Mode boot remains.

As already has been explained in other threads, use msconfig to remove that boot option.
