I was using Avast since 2014, then tried uninstalling it to use current version last night. I got a reboot and then my HD said PLEASE WAIT and dots ran across my screen. I have Windows XP Package 3. Now, my search function won’t work and my Solution Center to restore won’t function at all. Could this be a virus or a corrupt sector on my HD ?
Run chkdsk C: to see if you’ve got bad sectors.
