avast update always failed

Hi guys,

I got problem with avast update. I am using Avast 4.6 Home Edition. My system spec is:

OS : Win 2k Professional Edition
Memory : 256MB
CPU : 1.8GHz Pentium 4
Hdd : 40GB

My problem is I always received error from Avast telling me that it can’t download the update from Avast. I found out that I need to stop a process name “avast.setup” first and then I can have the automatic update. But the process can’t be terminated normally. I have to use killbox program to stop the process. Anyone can tell me the solution?

I found out that I need to stop a process name "avast.setup" first and then I can have the automatic update.
This is what does the avast updates, so kill that, kill the update.

You need to allow avast.setup access in your firewall (which is ?).
