My subscription is active until January of 2017 and is on a Windows 10 machine. Last night Avast was doing an update to my system. When I woke up this morning, internet access is now disabled. When I pull up Avast, it says “The online content is unavailable - please check your internet connection…”
Windows says both Avast and Windows Firewall are turned off. When I select to turn Avast firewall on, nothing occurs. When I select to turn Windows firewall on, it appears to work, but I still have no access to the Internet.
Last month during the last update it happened and I paid $119 to fix it. To fix it again with this update is another $119. Unfortunately I cannot continue to pay $119 after each update.
Avast third party support shouldn’t have charged you for help with the update/installation.
So I have reported this to Avast.
But like schmidthouse said : Always ask help here on the forum ( for free ).
And if we don’t have an answer, we can put issues forward to the Avast Developers.
