Avast update killed my internet.

I updated the program today and reset as it called for, and now my computer is unable to connect to the internet. Avast is also telling me the webshield is not functional. I tried disabling windows firewall(which is the only other firewall I have on this computer) and reset since that seemed like it might be a problem but I still cannot connect.

What can I do to fix this? Can I uninstall avast, redownload and reinsert the licence file?(using Avast Internet Security on Windows 7 Home if that matters)

I to had this issue. Im not risking a borked computer so im using kaspersky free trial until i get news that this wont happen again upon a re install of avast

You can uninstall Avast! running its uninstall utility found here:

Reinstall you Avast! from here:

Hi I had a problem also, but it only blocked and froze FF13 when I used flash player.
Had enough and went back to AVG and everything was fine again. Had a problem with AVAST 6 blocking the internet also, but it seemed fixed in 7 and now it’s back after the latest update.
I finally sorted out the FF13 an Flash Player 11.3 problems and get new ones from AVAST, no thank you AVAST.

PS: Since going back to AVG I was SHOCKED at how fast the Full virus scans are.
