Avast Update

I’m using the Free 6.0.1367 Version, and it won’t update anymore. If I try to update either the program or the virus definitions, it gets stuck at “initializing” (no progress at all). Also, I don’t know how to uninstall it so I can reinstall the new version.

  2. download and save the uninstall utility http://www.avast.com/uninstall-utility
  3. re-boot into safe mode (pressing F8 repeatedly)
  4. run uninstall utility for each version of avast you have now
  5. re-boot into normal mode
  6. install version 7.0.1466
  7. re-boot and register avast :slight_smile:
