- Click on the small upwards pointing white triangle (arrow) in the task bar
- From the menu the opens click on Customize
- Find the orange Avast antivirus icon.
- Across from the item, in the Behaviours column use the pull down and select "Show icon and notifications.
- Click on OK.
Now the avast icon should show in the task bar without having to click on the white triangle.
You should be able to open the avast gui by clicking on this icon.
6. With the avast gui open, click on Settings, then click on appearance.
7. Make sure there is a tick in both the “Show avast tray icon” and “Animate the icon when scanning” boxes
8. Click on OK
9 Reboot
If the icon in the task bar doesn’t stay put, then I would suggest it is time to try
(a) A repair of Avast and if that doesn’t work
(b) Uninstall, cleanup using AvastClean.exe, then reinstall.
