Avast Using Very High CPU Resources

Hello

Just installed avast and see the cpu resources are very high, reaching 100%, I thought nitro was low on resources.

Cannot use my computer as it is slowing down everything.

First, be sure to get rid of all remnants of your prior installed AV(s)…!!

Then:

  1. Download Avast Premier Antivirus: https://files.avast.com/iavs9x/avast_premier_antivirus_setup_offline.exe
  2. Follow instructions: https://www.avast.com/uninstall-utility (Run this tool for all prior installed Avast versions…!!)
  3. Reinstall Avast with the downloaded installer from point 1.
  4. Reboot.

What are the system specs ?
What else is running (in the background) ?

avast hasn’t been low on resources since version 2015.

You don’t say what process is using high resources ?
The main avast services are avastSvc.exe, then avastUI.exe and shortly after boot instup.exe.

If you have enabled the Show avast tray icon and the animate the icon when spinning. When at 100% is the tray icon animated (rotating) ?

Removed avast, in the task manager avast was the culprit using all the cpu resources.

Conflict is a very wonderful thing, remove one element of the conflict and there is no conflict, but it doesn’t confirm that was the culprit. This is why we ask questions, without them no one can really say what is going on.

Hello Mlstro,
Looks like cases avast premier the same as mine namely problems large resource .
Until now there is no clarification on this problem.
Version os windows 10 pro 64-bit also same as i and version avast premier already latest, but resource still high.

I’m running the free version and don’t have any problems. I’m also NOT using Avast Cleanup. (I didn’t install it when I installed Avast)

All I Have already done starting from uninstall version long avast premier be avast premier
lastest version, but the result are still the same and no change resource low.

I Know that avast not cause resource high, but in a period of time near future resource the bigger.
