Avast v5.xx Under Family Pack License

How do I handle my existing installations of Avast v5.xx under the Family Pack License?
Do I need to somehow deactivate a license?
Before I decide to reformat a hard drive, or before I decide to replace old computers on my network, should I uninstall Avast Pro while connected to the Internet before I install Avast Pro on a new, replacement computer or after a clean OS installation/upgrade?

I do not think it would be needed to be connected to the internet to do either scenario you suggest.
