Hello to anyone who can help. When I try to update VDB it doesn’t work, it is set up as automatic. When downloded the update from website and try to run the following errors came in:
"Can’t Install VPS update, Please report the following errorcodes:
Ver: 4.8.129
SI:0x00000002
ST:0xFFFFFFFF
LE:0x00000000.
Does anyone knows what this mean and what to do. I try to unistall and install again but couldn’t unistall the Avast prog. Any suggestion? Thanks
Well to start with the SI:0x00000002 bit of the error is a windows file system error 2 and that = The system cannot find the file specified.
Allied to the other issue inability to uninstall your installation appears to be corrupt.
Download the latest version of avast (if you didn’t save it before) http://www.avast.com/eng/download-avast-home.html and save it to your HDD, somewhere you can find it again. Use that when you reinstall.
Download the avast! Uninstall Utility, find it here and save it to your HDD.
Now uninstall (using add remove programs, if you can’t do that as you mentioned start from the next step), reboot.
run the avast! Uninstall Utility, reboot. If step 1 failed it may be necessary to run this from safe mode, once complete reboot into normal mode.
install the latest version, reboot.
