I’ve received a ‘monthly email newsletter’ from Avast; “The Download”.

It this legit or phishing?

At any rate: I don’t remember ever having opted in to this, and I regard it as spam.
I’ve now unsubscribed from everything and expect to never receive any more unsolicited mails, thanks.

Thanks for the new release

hi,
The bank mode does not open anymore (nothing happens) since the 22.12 update … both by the AV UI or by ASB (v107 or today v108)
we are 3 (free and premium) users to have made this report in the French section.
https://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=322049.0
Are there any other (no french) users who encounter this issue?

Yes, had the same issue re browser not opening in bank mode after program update. Had to uninstall and reinstall, it’s working now, hopefully it stays that way.

Also another issue, whenever I connect to the same wifi network, pop up appears telling me it’s a new network. Shouldn’t the firewall remember it’s the same network? In firewall settings ‘Networks’ I’m up to 81. It logs the same network name then the number next to it representing the number of times i’ve connected in the last several weeks.

Avast browser or Avast AV ?

Browser.

I can confirm the problem and have reported it to Avast.

Bank Mode disappears before it opens. The tab shows for a few seconds, then disappears. I have done every step Avast lists, nothing works. And everything has been uninstalled, and installed, updated, restarted, the lot. I even did someone’s suggestion to put Avast into passive mode, reboot. Nothing. I have tried to open it from all angles, and the tab shows for a few second then disappears. I would appreciate a fix for this. Thank you, joan

This has already been reported to Avast.

Yes I saw your comment, thank you. And I added mine. I do hope Avast fixes it soon. I have things I have to pay for… In the meantime I will uninstall and reinstall again. Thank you. Joan
Please Avast, fix the Bank Mode.

It has been fixed.

Thank you for the confirmation. I tried it, didnt work, so I will uninstall and reinstall, reboot, that should do it. Thank you, joan

Bank Mode still not working / disappearing. I uninstalled Avast, reinstalled it, rebooted and, uninstalled Avast Secure Browser and reinstalled it, rebooted. Still disappearing… Please advise what else can be done to fix it. thank you, joan

Which version of the Secure Browser and which version of Avast do you have installed?
You do need both installed for Banking Mode to work.

the bank mode still doesn’t work for me:
ASB 108.0.19614.99
Premium 22.12.6044 (version 22.12.7758.765)
W7 64b : I hope avast didn’t leave us the last ASB update for W7 with a banking mode that no longer works :-\

I’m on Windows 11 and Banking Mode is working.

Avast Secure Browser and Avast free antivirus.

Avast Secure Browser is up to date
Version 107.0.19447.122 (Official Build) (64-bit)
and
Avast Free Antivirus 22.12.6044 (build 22.12.7758.765)

Drat! I forgot to download the offlien installer for Avast 22.11. Avast One also has this issue. How can I back-version that product?

Aaaah! The offline installer is still available via the version update post in November. This highlights that Avast One users lack the offline installer luxury.
