Yes it’s Missing in my Browser Too. I have also redownloaded & Reinstalled Many Times but all in vein.
Developers please Solve this problem as soon as Possible!

What do you mean by ‘missing’, where is it missing?
If you hover your mouse over a video, the option to download should come up.
There is no icon in the browser’s tool bar.

There is an “Avast Video Downloader” icon on my browser tool bar. See attachment.

Apologies, You are Correct. It was hidden on mine.

Hi Bob,

Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately it didn’t work though - not showing in extensions list. Do I need to have Avast installed as a prerequisite? (I have Avast Free).

Do you have any other suggestions?

Thanks
Joyce

Make sure the address bar is not hiding the icon. The size (width or length) can be adjusted and can hide active icons.

Are u really a bot? You can read messages?
The “avast video downloader” is not installed in the extention
ALright…
There is no such extention it is missing it is gone
Not we dont turn it on
We cant turn it on cause we dont have the extention!!!

Agreed dionowen261 - bob3160 just keeps posting the same stuff in all the different threads about uninstalling and doing a clean install or make sure that it isn’t hidden by the address bar and isn’t listening to the fact that it isn’t an Extension there to enable - it’s not in the list of extensions

If it doesn’t exist, how come I can take a screenshot of the extension?

Obviously, it does exist some of you are having a problem getting it to show up.
I’ve reported it to Avast. Maybe they can figure out why you’re having a problem.
It’s obviously not a problem for everyone.

I have 4 computers running version 90.1.9508.213 and all are missing the video downloader extension developer mode is on. it is not in the list of extensions . it was working fine until the update . why is it missing now ?

It also disappeared for me. I had several issues and contacted customer support. They advised me to attempt to uninstall and reinstall, which I did, and it still did not work. I contacted tech support again and the gentleman suggested I attempt to uninstall and reinstall again, or try System Restore from a previous date when the downloader was still working. I humored him and tried that as well, and it did nothing to fix the issue.

Originally it had the error :error in event handler: error: attempting to use a disconnected port object, but reinstalling did nothing to fix that. Then got uncaught (in promise) typeerror failed to fetch service worker and npm install ytdl-core@latest.

Eventually the third person at customer service I spoke to advised me to clear all caches, unplug all accessories and try a fresh uninstall/reinstall. I did that, and when I reinstalled and then restarted my computer the extension was just gone from my list of browser extensions. The fourth person at customer service I spoke to advised me that it was being recalled and worked on, so it was removed for a large group of individuals. When I asked him why that would be, since I was paying for the service and not using the free version. He said it was an “across the board change that affected a large percentage of users.” I asked when it would be restored and he said he had no clue.

Does anyone know if this is factual? Has anyone else gone through these hoops I did? Really frustrated here.

i have had this problem for a while now, anyone know if this has been resolved yet

This is the last reply I’ve received from an Avast developer.
“Issue is known and under investigation for youtube.com website.”

I have the same problem. I hope they fix it soon.
