Avast virus definition update issue

So I updated my antivirus to avast 8, I didn’t like it so I uninstalled, rebooted and installed the avast 7 setup file that I have on my drive.

Now, whenever I try to update the virus definitions, it will load saying downloading file: prod-ais.vpx and then about a second later saying downloaded file: prod-ais.vpx

So I thought oh cool, but then I clicked okay and it showed that I still had virus definitions 120821-0.

I tried downloading again and it did the same thing, it says that it is already up to date but then the current version says “120821”.

So basically, it’s showing me that have the most recent virus definitions “130305” but then it says my current virus definitions are 120821-0. :frowning:

Can anybody help me figure out what’s wrong?

Do an Avast repair. Control Panel>Uninstall/Change>Avast>Repair

Reboot after the repair. Should fix the sync issues.
