I’ve just yesterday installed avast anti-virus. While I was browsing I got a window like this one below. I pressed the single 5th button (don’t lauch or something). But what does this actually mean? Did I do the right thing?
Are you using Windows XP?
Can you schedule a boot-time scanning?
Start avast! > Right click the skin > Schedule a boot-time scanning.
Select for scanning archives.
Boot.
Access denied means, generally, that the file is in use by another process (program) and cannot be repaired/cleaned/moved/handled by avast!
Was it Eicar that was blocked as shown in your attachemnt, or something with a different name?
Was that a window with the only option “Abort the Connection”? If so and you did abort the connection then the offending file was never written to your ard drive and you should be fine.

It was a worm and it was an exploit. That’s what I remember.
It wasn’t a single button. It was a window with 5 buttons, but I pressed the one with text like “don’t execute” or something. But later I wasn’t not sure what Avast actually meant with it.
