Avast visited URLs data sending

Hi everyone,
I read that Avast Antivirus, among many others, collects and sends data about the URLs the user visited:
http://www.av-comparatives.org/wp-content/uploads/2014/04/avc_datasending_2014_en.pdf
My concern and request is, that the user gets a choice in the updated version to turn of at least the sending of the URLs he visited to protect his or her privacy.
Could you at Avast please change this?
Thank you.

If I’m not mistaken you can do this by opting out by GUI>Settings>Community>untick the box.

Personally I don’t worry about sending this “anonymous” information to avast since it helps
avast improve the product and thus helps protect the end user. In fact I’m all for it!

M2M,

please use the search option before posting.
This has been explained by a avast team member already on this webboard.

And there is ofcourse the EULA:

Para-Noid,

thanks for your answer, but ticking off that box, doesn’t stop URL datasending because i did and avast still uploads.

Eddy,

I did use the search function. Where is the post you mentionend? Where have you found it?

Here is one of the posts about it:

And READ the EULA.
