Avast VPN. Not allowing connection to Sky News in Aust. from Aust

I have just subscribed to Sky News Aus. I am going overseas for 6 months and want to be able to watch. I am in Bris, VPN set to Melb … told me I cannot watch because I wasn’t in Aus? So how is it going to work overseas?

Does the same in the UK. I’m in the UK at the moment but if I use the VPN in Ultimate I’m blocked from both BBC and ITV UK apps.
