Avast VPS update for versions 5 to 8 not working

I am trying to update the database on one of my offline devices but when I download and install “Avast VPS update for versions 5 to 8” from the https://www.avast.com/en-us/download-update page, it states that the database is already up to date but when I check avast the installed definitions are from the last time I updated then which was 10/09/2019.

The latest VPS update for app version 5-8 is October ‎9, ‎2019. For all other app versions, it is October ‎22, 2019.
VPS update for app version 5-8 is being worked on. Apologies for any inconvenience caused.

As a second additional step, we implemented a process whereby product updates, including VPS updates, are thoroughly checked and updated every few days, instead on a daily basis. For Avast users who are currently still using an Avast version 8.x, the VPS updates are on hold and undergoing rigorous inspection. We are working hard to resolve this as soon as possible.

Highlighting in quote is mine, they have obviously dealt with current Avast version, now they are working on earlier versions. You should still be getting the streaming updates ?

Right now, it’s not supposed to be a permanent issue.
But please note that the virus definition updates for Avast versions 5 to 8 are expected to stop by the end of this year, for good.

Here we are in late October, time to start planning for what you are going to do when this support does end if you are unable to update to a later avast version.
