AVAST VPS UPDATE PROBLEM. NOTICE THIS POST AVAST DEVELOPERS!

Avast VPS update (virus definition as of MAy 2, 2017 22:27:49 )

Avast digital signature is invalid, Unlike previous update the digital signature is valid.

OS is WIndows 7 Ultimate SP1 latest Avast Antivirus.

I downloaded the vps update directly from avast https website and after trying it to install(update) on my uncle’s computer it started to act weird, Avast anti virus is malfunctioning, explorer is hanging when I click right click scan of avast. Any explanation would satisfy me.

I will attach the screenshots later, no I haven’t done full system scan of Avast AV after this incident, including malwarebytes, winpatrol is not reporting anything weird.

You don’t say what avast version you are using ?

Whilst this may not be the cause, but I suggest that you update to the latest version, 17.4.2294.

Thanks DavidR for replying

I am using
Avast AV Version
17.3.2291
2017-03-30

I did notice the latest update while browsing the forum, I will clean uninstall using Avast Cleanup Utility and download and install the latest update.
I will report back later, Sorry it’s troublesome to go back and forth from my computer and my uncle’s computer as I need to ask permission as their I.T. support staff, I will try to include screenshots later. Thank you again.

You’re welcome.

I would suggest download all of the tools first, especially the new avast version (https://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=201729.0 for direct download locations) so you aren’t going online without protection. Also I would suggest downloading the off-line version of avast rather than the on-line option. This way you can have a copy for future use if required.

Why I can’t post multiple screenshots at once?

Anyways can any man suggest or recommend me alternatives to post screenshots here on this forum?

In fact, you can post more.

Thanks Asyn

It’s on my side, it’s complicated to use this forums on my current OS, I am currently running linux as for now.

I can’t download Avast VPS update, Do you have an idea why can’t I?

You’re image pretty much says why 404 error (I also get it), why that is ‘we avast users’ can’t say. We could speculate that it is being reworked or there is a server issue, but speculation isn’t fact.

Some of the earlier versions are available, I would have though it would be them that dropped off the download side.

EDIT: I don’t know what all of those little firefox icons are about though, if they might also have an impact.

Successfully updated Avast AV to latest program release, AVAST VPS as of May 6, 2017.

Status Report:

Avast AV with vps update of May 6, 2017 is currently slowing down my uncle’s computer, I needed to do forced shutdown on his computer. Digital Signature was fixed by Avast Developers as of now.

I will download latest Avast VPS as of May 9, 2017, Reporting back here in this forum is really hard due to technical difficulties that I am currently experiencing.

Going from one computer to another is really troublesome, any advise and solution would really help, I have already tried doing Avast Uninstall Utility and Clean Custom Install of Avast AV multiple times it is enough already as since it will create a new restore point thus deleting the old ones.

Configuring Windows 7 from time by time is really annoying and frustrating scenario that I handle every time I try to switch back to Avast Antivirus.

Would any man kindly notify the Avast Devs to fix the bugs, glitches and errors that this current build have, Please.

Thanks
