Avast vs bitdefender

This is shown on during bitdefender, i find it funny
they say avast free is almost as good as a paid version on bitdefedner and even giving avast better rating than other paid security suites
you guys are awesome ::slight_smile:

Maybe.

Note avast 7.0 is bundled in there with AVG Free 2012 and Avira Security Suite 2012. Where’s version 8.0, or did they forget we have/had that come in too?

For what it is worth, it’s advertising for Bitdefender 2013, not avast!, and implying avast! 7.0 is not as good, at that. Of course not, it’s an older obsolete version.

avast! 7.0.1407 was released on 23/02/2012 and the last version was released on 31/10/2012 as 7.0.1474.

Hi,

i have 70 undetected samples here on my desktop, Hitman Pro detects almost all of them with
Bitdefender and Kaspersky Engine.

Poor advertise ::), honestly avast v2014 free is by far more better than any free av on the market, I’m using avast more than 7 years and I’m very happy

I camo to Avast around 7.0.1456 cause AVG was almost killing my laptop that time.

good choice  avast is a strong av

Do you think i dont know that now?

My uncle is using Avast now for the moment, but i dont know if he will stay at Avast or if he will purchase a license
and if he will go over to Avast on all computers, some of them are running Norton Online Security and some are running AVG Free.

Yes I know you do, but regarding your uncle and maybe others, is their choice either to buy/use free avast or other. But hey as long you use avast free in non-commercial environment, you could install avast on more than 1 pc, my ex I have 4 pc in my house all running free avast. Only if you want extra protection you buy AIS or Premier version.

I will maybe purchase a license for Avast Internet Security or Premier.

DeepScreen needs to get better, then Avast could be on almost a level than Kaspersky.

+1 here I’m with you

True, bitdefender ui is horrible and is very buggy, good detection though

Avast is working on DeepScreen by the way.

I have undetected samples here on my laptop and yesterday 4 or 5 of them got detected by DeepScreen.
Before no were detected by DeepScreen.

Do you have any links to any recent tests etc which corroborate your statement please.?

Thanks.

Arnold72,

It’s only an opinion. No facts are needed. He’s saying he likes avast! free protection and that he’s used it for 7 years, and he’s happy with it. He does not, in his opinion, think Bitdefender is necessarily playing fair here. I think that is the point of the OP’s thread.
