I just purchased and installed Avast pro no problem. But I quickly found out there are compatability issues with Zone Alarm.
Does some one know some firewalls… or is there a place I can get a list of firewalls… that play nice with Avast??

Zone Alarm Free is also OK.
You can wait… on July you’ll have avast firewall (but it won’t be free).

That is yet to be decided as I believe the avast firewall will initially only be available in the avast! suite form and that may well be a paid product.

I have used Avast with ZA Pro for around four years now. I have never had a conflict, problem or any issue at all between the two.
The major ZA Pro balls up around six months with an updated ZA Pro was solely down to ZA.
In summary I run ZA Pro, Avast and MBAM all resident and they all appear to function perfectly.
Hope that helps. Perhaps others could contribute their experience or thoughts.
