Avast warning of a "Threat Detected" nothing downloaded . .

Greetings from Texas, USofA,
Short explanation; received a message in my email client, Pegasus Mail v4.63, there is a link within the message and I clicked it. A warning from AVAST! FREE “A Threat Detected” and in the popup box told of a trojan horse. Nothing was downloaded and the link looked familiar. So I put in just the URL, without the trailing slashes (/), the same thing occurred. Would you like to know where that is from? Will send it unusable meaning you will need to add the start part.

yes.....and post it unclickable

No one can answer this as there is no information on the actual alert, either a screenshot of the avast alert window or the information given in the alert, full URL, malware name, etc.

When posting URLs to suspect sites change the http to hXXp to break links to avoid accidental exposure.

Thank you Pondus,

All I used was the first part, none of the remainder after the ‘dot com’ and still got the Red Alert box pop-up and had not the time to get a screen shot, but; was told by the voice “A Threat Detected” and saw “A Trojan Horse” in the box.

One other point I neglected to report, the SPAM filter in Pegasus Mail moved that message to my SPAM folder as it is supposed to do . . that was also part of my alert to this message not being what it is presented.

I am now deleting that message from my system.

Did you try to use just the link I sent and adding just ‘http://www.’ to the very start? That is what I did but without the remaining after the ‘.com’.

Pondus,
I just attempted to visit that site and the following is what I received:

"The connection was reset

The connection to the server was reset while the page was loading.

The site could be temporarily unavailable or too busy. Try again in a few
moments.
If you are unable to load any pages, check your computer’s network
connection.
If your computer or network is protected by a firewall or proxy, make sure
that Firefox is permitted to access the Web."

Now what? It appears to be OFF-LINE!

OH! I forgot to mention I do use Microsoft’s FireWall with Win7 SP1 and I do believe it has access to the web because I am HERE!

Plus any other suggestions they put in that message are bogus!

what.... urlquery.com ?

works fine here

Did not use . . . urlquery.com used the website that I sent to you, or the very first part www. whatever

Just now did that same access and still received the Warning:
