When running Chrome, I get random popup warnings from Avast reporting that it has foiled an attempt by Chrome to connect to “cosmetics.com”. I only get the popup when running Chrome. I do not get it when running Firefox or the Avast Browser. There was no attempt on my part to connect to that site. The action does not appear to be linked to any web site I am looking at, at the time. I have attached a screen grab of the popup.
I am running Win7.
I have removed Chrome from the PC and have then reloaded Chrome. No Joy.
I have run CCleaner. No Joy.
I would like to be able to run Chrome without getting the popup. Suggestions?
Thank you.
Sorry for posting in the wrong section. Newbies do that sort of thing.
For closure:
Malwarebytes found nothing. However, a complete removal of Chrome, followed by running CCleaner, followed by a cold boot of the machine before reloading Chrome, provided satisfactory results.
