Hi, I got woken up this morning by my boyfriend to a big surprise from my Avast. I’m using the free version and this morning when he woke up and turned the computer on, Avast tried updating like normal but then turned red (I guess) And said to some extent. (I can’t remember the exact words) "You’re computer is not protected. Click Fix Now, to fix the problem. I’ve read a few posts with the similar problems, but my concern that after reinstalling it seems to be working fine now- but I’m still really nervous. I scanned the computer, it seems to have no threats and I also scanned my computer with MalwareBytes Anti-Malware and it had no threats either. But when I was trying to hit the Fix Now button this morning it was doing nothing and my computer seemed to be lagging a bit during the process. So I’m just really nervous, I’m wondering if there could be anything else wrong that my Antivirus and Malware isn’t catching. Could that be a possibility? Please let me know. And FYI, I’m not very computer smart, so detailed intructions would be nice.
Hello: Please try a Repair of Avast by going to Control Panel, Add and Remove PRograms and select Avast, then click Change/Remove and scroll down the option and choose ‘Repair’. When completed reboot your PC. See if that corrects the problem. ![]()
Sound’s like just a hicup, did u try a repair and then rebooting the computer ? it could have saved you reinstalling maybe!
If a new scan with avast and MBAM have come up clean i would think that you are ok as long as your system is functioning normally.
I didn’t repair. I didn’t even think of that, lol. I just uninstalled and reinstalled Avast and it seems to be running fine now. But yeah, both scans came up clean I’m just really, really, paranoid. I guess I just wanted to know if there was anything else I could do to make sure everything was okay. Cause I can’t understand why Avast would of done that in the first place, without having a problem or reason behind it. So I guess I just expected to have somethin wrong. :l
Could be a number of reasons why this happen’s sometime’s but usually a repair will fix it, do you have load’s of startup program’s running at boot ?, make sure to update MBAM before you run it, you can also run a boot time scan if you want and are still worried.
LOL. Doubled instructions! Sounds good to me ;D ;D ![]()
I only posted because it looked like you missed the part where the op said they had already reinstalled ![]()
No worries craig, just my attempt at a joke :-\
