Avast, we have a problem ("your system is not fully protected")

Hi Avast and readers.

It seems that a few (or many) of us have a problem.

After the last update, XP told me my system was not fully protected. I tried to update Avast but it keeps telling me it’s already updated. On the other hand, if I check Maintenance/Update, it tells me “Your virus definitions are out of date” and I still have XP warning about my antivirus.

My version is 5.1889 and I’m not the only one to encounter this problem:

first check that your system time/day/date/year is correct, if not adjust…

then try avast repair and reboot

For a repair of avast. Windows, Add Remove programs, select ‘avast! Anti-Virus,’ click the Change/Remove button from the pop-up window, scroll down to Repair, click next and follow.
