AVAST web security disables submenus at site

I have just noticed that AVAST disables some website submenus which are using javascript, this happens at least with IE10.

Using version 2014.9.0.2013

I have lost many hours trying to know why my own website menus are not showing until I disabled AVAST web security and all worked fine again.

Hi, I’m assuming you are referring to AOS> The issues with Avast Online Security(Browser Protection Option) have been widely reported with what you are describing (with myself as well).
You can disable Avast Online Security Plug in found in Brower Add ons.(as I think you may have done)
OR you can uninstall Browser Protection(AOS) by Control Panel/ Programs/Features and chose Avast then choose ‘Change’ and uncheck ‘Browser Protection’.

thanks for your answer.

If this has been confirmed it would have been nice that Avast sent us a message about this probability or just disabled the feature. I’m now remembering that I had a similar issue in Chrome with a Facebook widget, it only worked after disabling AOS.

And still my email SSL issues every day, also had to disable the deep scan feature and some other issues. Really not happy with AVAST.

I am just a user like yourself, and offered a comment on what I have been reading on the forum.
As far as Avast is concerned, I have no idea what their intentions are with respect to the ‘Browser Protection’ module.

thanks for your message.

Sorry if it seemed my answer was a claim to you, no intention; just commenting that I’m very unsatisfied with my Avast purchase.

No worries,
I understand your frustration.

Please would somebody fix this issue! Also what can I do to stop this from happening instead of total uninstall…details please.

Hi and welcome
Go into “Tool” in your Browser and choose “manage add-ons” or “add-ons” then locate “Avast Online Security” and DISABLE.
That’s it, no total uninstall necessary
