i have a problem many months ago , when i try to download a youtube video through http://keepvid.com while the web shield is running i don’t get the message that asks me to allow java or not so i can’t download the video but when i disable the web shield i get the message and java works fine then i get download links and start to download .
i tried to make an Exclusion for the site but it did not work , i don’t know what to do !
i’m using Avast IS 9.0.2006 and this problem was existed in the older versions
Info above about the sites should tell you not to turn off the shields, as they are (or is it they are infected and/or now you are infected?) malicious so avast! is properly protecting you from harm.
What version of java redistributable environment (jre) do you see on your system for IE and what version is IE?
the latest Version is not only blocking Java on Websites it is also blocking java-based (eclipse-based) software e.g. RSSOWL.
After having installed the upgrade it is also blocking an long before installed open-vpn based Software (tunXten)
Also adding a footer to all of my latest e-mails like “Diese E-Mail ist frei von Viren und Malware, denn der avast! Antivirus Schutz ist aktiv. " = This E-mail is free of Virus and mailware due to an active avast! antivirus protection” is from my point of view not acceptable.
So I would highly appriciate that you check your software and explain to your customers why something like that happens.
You should have a newer one, 9.0.2006.160. I’ll try to find out how
Edit:
We’ll find out why you failed to have to correct version of the webshield DLL in the program folder. For a quick fix, visit this page: http://public.avast.com/~rypacek/patches/ and download the correct DLL there. You’ll have to manually replace it in the program folder. In case you don’t feel like doing it yourself, please wait, we’ll come up with a fix.
This also appears to have fixed my problem with the content server of calibre! (see my post concerning this in the beta section). Hopefully it continues to work . . . .
Yesterday i was having a problem with avast blocking a java based application as well. After reading this reply I checked my ashWebSv.dll file and it was the correct .160. After checking that file earlier today, the java program worked just fine so I thought an Avast update fixed it. I just reinstalled avast because I didn’t want any problems in the future after updating to windows 8.1 and a fully updated avast is back to blocking that java program even though it has the 9.0.2006.160 version of ashWebSv.dl.
I noticed that there is a new file in the avast folder now: ashwebsv.dll.1382071622. When I checked earlier and the program was not getting blocked, this file wasn’t there. What can I do to get this problem fixed?
