Our computer seems to have been infected recently. When Chrome is on, Avast keeps popping up messages, “Avast Web Shield has blocked a harmful webpage or file” - does not matter what website is currently being displayed.
I’ve seen some threads about this, but the solutions don’t seem to work.
We’ve run Avast full system scan and downloaded Windows’ malicious software removal tool, but to no avail.
Please see attached for details of the message.
Any ideas? Thank you very much.

Thank you for the info. It seems like the Malwarebytes Anti-Malware recommended in the link you included works much better than Windows’ malicious software removal tool https://www.microsoft.com/security/pc-security/malware-removal.aspx.
Malwarebytes detected over 150 malicious items (while Windows’ removal tool found 0), and upon removal of those items the pop up seems to have stopped.
I will keep you updated if it becomes a problem again.
