Avast Web shield has blocked a threat. Infection: URL:MAL

Hi All,

I keep receiving below warning even I am not visiting travellife.org. I’ve tried to google what happened, I empty the cache in safari, run a full scan and nothing seems help at all. Someone said it is a false positive, and I reported to Avast.

If I remember correctly, it seems happened since upgrade to Yosemite.

Avast Web shield has blocked a threat.
Infection: URL:MAL
URL: hxtp://www.travellife.org/
Process:/System/Library/Frameworks/WebKit.framework/Versions/A/XPCServices/com.apple.WebKit.Networking.xpc/Contents/MacOS/com.apple.WebKit.Networking

Any idea?

You can find the mac forum here:
https://forum.avast.com/index.php?board=5.0

I have a similar issue and I am not happy that avast refers us to the mac forum… really?

This is what i get an it appears to be after i upgraded to Yosemite with a download I should not have done from an audacity spoof site. (I was not paying enough attention). It shows up in my my mail program. I have changed all my passwords.
I could not figure out how to insert an image in this forum tool. i used adwaremedic mac app at the suggestion of the avast paid tech service. it said it found and cleaned up the issue, but it still shows up after a few hours of the mail being open.
i run it again and it is no longer there. The program was shutting off avast also… go figure,
the only option is to reinstall the OS… really?

It seems that you do not know what a forum is.

It starts with a webboard.
Part of the webboard are forums.
Part of the forums can be sub-forums.
One of more post under the same subject is called a thread.

Did you even clicked on the link and read?
