Avast Web Shield is blocking Imgur?

When I disable the web shield I’m able to use imgur but if its enabled it blocks the website. I’ve tried adding it to the whitelist but it still remains blocked until I disable the web shield.

I know there was some Imgur issue in the past I just don’t get why its still blocking it; for me anyway.

What exact version of avast ?
Any other security (related) software installed ? (or was there)
What is the message that avast shows when you try to visit the website ?

What other security software do you have now or ever had?
If uninstalled how was it removed?

Have you tried a repair…Control Panel>uninstall a program>double click “avast”>click “repair”>reboot.

The error is

"Unable to access the network

ERR_NETWORK_ACCESS_DENIED"

When I disable the Avast Web Shield I’m able to access it. Malwarebytes isn’t blocking it otherwise it would say.

151127-0 is not a avast version but a vps version.

Given the error you are getting, I suspect that a Repair may not resolve this.

Have you got an imgur URL that you tried accessing that failed and some of us here can check if we can access it ?

You could also try enabling the web shield again but uncheck the HTTPS scanning in the web shield settings and see if that makes a difference.

imgur is not using https
The site is not blocked by avast
