I recently switched to Waterfox which is an unofficial 64bit build of Firefox, it uses the exact same profile and loads the same bookmarks/history/passwords/addons but the only single addon that it will not load is avast webrep. Since it loads everything else that is intended for a 32bit browser I am guessing its avasts problem and not the browsers (loads 15/15 other addons)
Any chance to get that to work? I actually liked that feature
Like you guy’s have mentioned it is an unofficial build and the user base for this browser is very small so i doubt avast is going to support it anytime soon, if however Mozilla do eventually take this build on as official one day ( let’s hope ) then avast will no doubt support it but this would still be only for stable releases as beta’s are also not supported.
Mozilla is planning official 64bit version but i have no clue when they plan on actually releasing it. It was suppose to be v12 but who knows with their way of doing things…
Again avast does not ordinarily function on beta versions. If you want avast protection you need to use a “build” not a beta.
Beta versions are generally not “bug free” and are by nature not stable enough to support third party security software.
to be honest neither is any other browser “bug free” havent run into any bugs or stability issues since i started using this. the only practical difference is that u need 64bit plugins
