Avast Webshield high disk activity

It seems like the Avast Webshield writes every single file that gets accessed in the web browser to C:\Windows\Temp_avast_\ws_[RANDOMNUMBER].
Is there any option to tell Avast to use the RAM (i have more than enough, and most files are way below 1MB and deleted immediately afterwards anyways) for those files? Big files and archives could still be stored/unpacked on the disk, but seriously every single small file accessed by the webbrowser… I disabled the webshield now and maybe will create a ramdisk for this purpose, but rerouting every temp file to ram is not desirable (some software doesnt work when the temp folder is not @ C: and not persistent acros reboots), can i just configure the path for avast webshield?

Not possible.

Hi esc, we are indeed writing the files to disk before scanning them (and unpacking if possible). We are now debating if we are able to change the behavior and do all the processing in memory for smaller files (say <1MB). Thanks for the tip.
