avast! Webshield protection

Hi avast team,

I would like to know the exceptions function of avast webshield protection?
Because after i assigned to URL Blocking like example : http://www.sisprima.com*
then for Exceptions : URL’s exclude : http://www.sisprima.com/product.html

After i tried it, i cannot access to http://www.sisprima.com/product.html. Actually avast only blocked www.sisprima.com but not http://www.sisprima.com/product.html.

Please kindly advice what is the function of Exceptions in avast webshield features?
Is it only for scan virus or for webshield exclude function?

Regards,
Yanto

I think the correct will be add only
www.sisprina.com*
But it would be good to have some official answer for it.

If I understand correctly, by adding the exception of http://www.sisprima.com/product.html, you have told avast that it should block all of the pages related to http://www.sisprima.com (indicated by the *) except the page added in the exceptions.

The webshield exceptions function to allow you to exclude websites that may be identified as infected from the scanning. This may be due to false positives etc. (care is needed here)

If you want to add exclusions for other scanning then you will have to ad it them in another section.

Tech,

Would it not be:
www.sisprima.com/* (as in similar to excluding files?)

or am I wrong here

Please correct me if I’m wrong about this subject

Scott, I don’t know. But I think * replace any character, even the slash /.

Now that I think about it…
Would adding the slash mean that the home page (www.sisprima.com) is not included in this exclusion, only the pages with extensions to the site address?

-Scott-

Makes sense… Let the slash there.

Dear All Friends,

Thanks for your kindly advice,

After i observe it and read the help information for exceptions feature only for exclude the files which allowed to download from URL.
So that function was created not for URL visited exceptions, but only for downloaded file exceptions.

Hopefully in the next versions, it would be include for URL exceptions feature.

Thanks
Yanto
