avast when insatlled stopped my wireless connection

the only reason why my wireless no longer works must be because avast blocked said wireless connection, so i guess i should uninstall avast?

avast just scans, does not block.
Which is your firewall? Any other security program?

Try going to settings > troubleshooting and select the “Load avast! services only after loading other system services”.

Hi,

as far as I know there was only a problem for some users that they received the “unprotected” status when the wireless connection was not ready yet and it went away as soon as it was. Therefore I am not sure if the troubleshooting setting will help here.

Maybe we should wait for a more detailed answer as Tech requested. I would also like to add the question, if the wireless drivers are up-to-date?

I had what sounds like the same problem. I have a home network. One Netware router. One PC wired connection. One PC with wireless connection. I have been running the free-version of Avast! Anti-virus on both PCs for the last two years with no issues. I upgraded to Avast! Internet Security yesterday and my wireless connection stop working. I tried turning off all the options in Avast! Internet Security to no avail. Today, on the wireless PC, I deleted then recreated the wireless adaptor connection. I have a USB wireless adaptor. I unplugged it then plugged it back in so Windows would prompt me for the new definition. My problem is now fixed. Good luck with your problem. Hope this helps.
