Avast will not allow Firefox on the internet

I have not had many problems with Avast but recently it will not allow me to load a website with Firefox.
I use Avast 5 Suite.

I traced routed my firefox Port 127.0.0.1 with these results

DNS name: local host
Ave. Ping: (blank)
Country: (blank)
Region: (blank)
City: (blank)
Zip Code: (blank)
Time Zone: (blank)

ISP: Loopback
Domain: SterlingStudents.net

Someone also installed AOL on my computer when they were using it, much to my dismay. I have deleted any and all AOL I can find on my computer but aoltpsd.exe is still listed in my firewall network connections. How do I remove this from my firewall network connections.

I will say I started having problems with firefox loading a website the day our company loaded AOL on my laptop. ugh!

Thanks,
Mary

OK, I uninstalled Avast and reinstalled a fresh copy and it is working now.

I am not sure if I can delete this post but Thanks for listening anyway!

I’m hiding my computer from company

Only moderators/admin can delete posts or topics. This one will still be useful should anyone with the same problem use the forum search function.

You can of course use the modify button in a post and remove any information you feel necessary like the domain name, etc.

You can also edit the original title of this thread to reflect the fact that the problem has been resolved.
