Avast will not load in Windows 7 Safe Mode

Hi,

I have started Windows 64bit in Safe Mode with networking, but the Avast UI will not load, and neither will Windows Security Centre. Any ideas ??

Neither is designed to run in Safe Mode. Safe Mode means limited programs and drivers, etc.
Safe Mode is usually used to find and fix a problem.

Are you having any problems causing you to run in safe mode?

The OP doesn’t appear to be having problems with safe mod, just that avast doesn’t start/load on boot to safe mode.

It isn’t designed to run on safe mode startup for the reasons Bob gave.

Some considerable time ago I did manually start it in safe mode more for a test than anything else. But I can’t see the purpose of running it in safe mode, even if the intention is to run a scan when it may be preferable to run a boot time scan.

Of course one reason might be not being able to run it or not able to get into normal windows startup.
