Every single time something on my computer is downloaded (even if it’s an update for ANY program), the Avast UI pops up, and blocks any other windows I have. This is especially annoying when I have a lot of documents to download, and I have to close/minimize the Avast UI window every single time! I’ve tried putting it on “Silent Mode”, and I have gone through all of the settings, and can’t find any setting related to this issue.
I’ve got a Gateway laptop with Windows 7. Pretty standard machine. Besides Avast, I only have Windows firewall running. I disabled the A/V.
I put it on silent mode to try and stop the pop-ups. It didn’t always happen. Only started a few months ago (maybe December?), and I’ve only had the computer since late October. I haven’t been able to find anything that I’ve installed that corresponds with when this stupid pop-up thing started
What AV have you disabled ? you cant have another AV installed on the same system as avast, even if you think you have disabled it there will still be low level driver active which can cause conflict.
[*]Once it has rebooted to safe mode

[*]Press Uninstall
[*]Once complete reboot your system to Normal Mode
