avast! with other AV question

Hi,

I’m using avast! Home, with Internal Mail, WebShield and Network Shield enabled only, I want to know if I should exclude, on the other AV, to scan in realtime the folder "C:\WINDOWS\Temp_avast4_"?

What is the other AV name, is it, on-demand, on-line or (hopefully not) resident ?

In theory there shouldn’t be anything in that folder as it is used to extract archives so they can be scanned, on successful completion of the scan the files in there should be deleted.

Yes, that folder (and all its subfolders) certainly has to be exluded from resident scanning.
The same applies to the corresponding “local” folders:
C:\Documents and Settings\user_name\Local Settings\Temp_avast4_

Is AntiVir PEC, and I’m running its real-time protection…

Vlk said that we can use avast! like this on Wilders, so I’m trying…

Both residents or just Antivir?
If avast is on-demand, which were the steps to disable the on-access completely?

I only installed and enabled the Internet Mail, Web Shield and Network Shield.
The others should not be installed to avoid conflits…

Thanks… as I’ve supposed, AntiVir is not compatible with avast anymore, neither the contrary, avast can’t be fully installed when an user is running AntiVir. Thanks for the info.
