avast! with Windows Live Messenger

I’m curious as to whether avast! scans any files I receive via Windows Live Messenger (WLM) automatically? I have seen on On-Access Protection Control → Instant Messaging → Customize Windows Messenger is on there; so does this mean avast! already protects me from any files received over Windows Live Messenger (WLM)?

OR

Do I have to add avast! to the File Transfer section in Options of WLM?

OR

Both?

Just to be sure, my AVAST’s “Instant Messenging” is set to scan any Windows Live! files as well.

Just in case.

Which file/program did you select from the ‘Avast4’ folder?

Unless disabled, Avast On-Access Scanner" scans any IM files you download.

The “Sensitivity” bar is already set at “Normal” but you can take that to “High”.
