I need the virus internet defender off my computer!
try boot scan
Great. I would suggest:
- that you stop posting about A, B, C, D … X, Y, Z does not work when you have infected computer (referring to your WebRep thread, links do not work thread etc.) since yeah, uh, infected computers usually do not work as expected
- Go to the proper section (viruses and worms - http://forum.avast.com/index.php?board=4.0), read the sticky posts there at the top
- Attach MBAM and OTS logs here (Additional Options - Attach)
+1
ha ha ha… didn’t even notice that these 3 threads are from one person until doktornotor wrote it.
Doktor is right, of course.
- I won’t install Anti malwarebytes because I have a perfect 6.0.1000 avast! free version on my hard drive.
- I did try a boot time scan but it found nothing.
- This isn’t the computer that’s infected; it’s my desktop running Win XP.
Well do as you wish. Unless you are willing to provide requested information needed for cleaning your machine, you can as well go ask elsewhere. You now started yet another thread about WebRep not working for you, please stop this.
OK, OK. Calm down, doktorontor. Here are the stats of the infected computer.
Dell, Xp Intel Pentium 4 processor, otherwise the computer is fine other than Internet Defender on it.
P.S. Avast 5 is on there too.
Unless your hardware got infected (like, CPU microcode overwritten), that information is irrelevant. I have already asked you for relevant information here:
only to hear this from you:
So, if you have perfectly functioning computer, I do not see what help you need. Otherwise, provide what has been requested.
THANKS!!!
Hi pcclean3453
Doctornoctor is only trying to help you. MBAM is a specialised tool that targets some malware families better than an anti virus. So I suggest you follow the recommended procedure
Greetz, Red.
Doctor Notor, Do you mean I should attach the log file? I already deleted that.
If you deleted the logs you will have to run MBAM/OTS again and attach the logs as repeatedly requested.
Ok, I admit it. What is a ots log file anyway?
