Avast wont open and keeps trolling me with these icons

I’m not entirely sure what to do, I can restart my computer and that’ll fix it until I need to open Avast… then it’ll start spawning icons again (this happens around 30% of the time). The avast Google Chrome extension also has a bug (https://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=198736.0). It just started to get annoying and i’m not really sure on how to report bugs, so why not post here. Here are some screenshots… if anything it provides a good laugh. https://imgur.com/a/0LH56

Your image would appear to be showing multiples of the avast tray icon, is that correct ?

If so to star with that is an old avast tray icon, the latest avast version is 17.2.2288, what version are you using ?

You could try an avast Repair, but I would suggest if you don’t have the latest avast version that you do a program update.

The avast program is updated to 17.2.2288 (build 17.2.3419.59), this should be the latest program version. Although since yesterday, the icon spam seems to appear less frequently. I’m thinking maybe it was a bug generated while updating program version.

It is certainly very strange, but I can recall having seen something similar many years ago, but yours is the only issue that I have seen in this latest version. Even more so why it should be replicating what was the old avast tray icon is beyond me.

I believe an avast Repair resolved that issue at that time.

Repair Avast:
Control Panel> Program and Features (Add/remove program)>Select Avast> Select Repair. Reboot when completed
