Hello fellow avast users. I have recently installed avast antivirus software and am not sure if this topic was already discussed, but when I try to run avast I get the following message: “The procedure entry point _basEncodeFileToSubmit@28 could not be located in the dynamic link library ashBase.dll.” Could someone explain why it is doing this and what I need to do to rectify the problem? Thanks a lot.
I’ve had both symantec and trend micro installed before. Both were uninstalled prior to the installation of Avast. For some reason when I try to uninstall Avast and start over, it won’t let me uninstall. It says that there was a problem with the uninstall…
I tried the repair route as well, and it didn’t give me an option for repair. Only Uninstall, update and one other option that escapes my memory at the moment. It did the update, but that was when the current problem occurred. Prior to that I had the red circle in the Avast icon located in the lower right part of the screen.
