Hope I am on correct forum , if not please advise . When I go from menu -select scan area - local disks and click same , the page goes black .Tried a few times and always the same . Has been ok until last couple of days . Would appreciate any help / advice given .
Hmmm… can you post a screenshot of the ‘black’ window?
Or, are you saying that all monitor become black?
It is the blue Avast start /menu page that goes black . I have now got Microsoft error report as follows . "Windows error reporting " Problem caused by Avast Antivirus. This problem caused by Avast Antivirus. This program created by Alwil software. Alwil software does not currently have a solution for the problem you reported. Having used Avast for quite a while now and been delighted with it ,looks like I will have to uninstall and replace it with some inferior programme . Thanks for trying to help .
Sorry, I still cannot imagine what is this error exactly.
I suggest an installation from the scratch:
- Uninstall avast from Control Panel first.
- Boot.
- Use Avast Uninstall for complete uninstallation.
- Boot.
- Install again the last version.
- Boot.
- Check and post the results.
Have carried out your advice and re installed Avast , everything now ok , thank you for advice and help .
