I was fighting with this all last night. I’ve tried all the basic things from “repairing” it to reinstalling anew.
First off, in normal mode my computer will start up at a crawl. Sometimes it will simply freeze. Thinking that it has to be malware, since it was working near perfectly the night before, I decide to try a boot time scan. I set it up and restart… And it does nothing. Due to aforementioned difficulties, I have to run in safe mode (which will still slow down, it just doesn’t freeze near as often and I’m able to do things before it slows too much), and upon investigation, I discovered Avast isn’t even protecting me, instead it opens up to a screen begging me to start the services again. Hitting “start” to begin doesn’t work, and clicking “Fix Now” does nothing more than slow down my computer. Scanning returns an endpoint error. God knows how long it might have been like this, really.
I was able to download and run Malwarebytes which caught several PUPs, but it seemed nothing more, and it didn’t really help. I also tried to stop the startup programs which worked to speed up my computer, but Avast still won’t operate.
Any help?

attach Malwarebytes and Farbar Recovery Scan Tool Logs
No changes outside of the ones I mentioned, oh, and uninstalling Microsoft Security Essentials to see if it was getting in the way of Avast. I haven’t downloaded anything questionable in quite a while, and have run scans since doing so.
And give me a bit on those logs.
Sorry for the lack of response. Soon after my last one, my hard drive kinda died. It’s not completely out, and I’m working on trying to clone it while it’s still breathing.
Also, the captcha is being a real pain.
