My licensed Pro version of Avast will not start, seems there is a program or virus or something stopping it from executing. I called Avast tech support and gave him(Jamal) authorization to take control of my computer. He supposedly looked into my PC and said I had 380 temp files and that was way too many. I was surprised at this, as I thought Windows long ago stopped keeping any temp files. He said he could fix my problems and launched into a sales pitch for a $179 charge to take care of everything. I have been down that road before with this type service and they continually ask for more and more money to fix mysterious problems that pop up on a seemingly regular basis after you sign up for a fee service. After declining and getting off with him, I went myself and could find no temporary files such as he showed me. I might be wrong, but seems to me they came with Jamal. Not happy with Avast since I started buying it. Never had problems when I used the free versions
